The “Hand Writing on the Wall:” When God Judges the Spirit of Islam

Islam, as a spiritual force on the earth, is about to end. We see how God Almighty judges and ends a kingdom in the Book of Daniel, Chapter 5. (To read the whole chapter, click here.)

In that day, over 2,500 years ago, Belshazzar, the King of Babylon was insulting God Almighty. He, along with his nobles, wives and concubines, was drinking alcohol from golden and silver vessels, which had been plundered from Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. As they drank, they praised their idols.

“Suddenly the fingers of a man's hand emerged and began writing opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace, and the king saw the back of the hand that did the writing” (Daniel 5:5).

The king was nearly scared sober. He naturally wanted to know what the message said, but none of the king’s sorcerers could interpret it. Then they called in the prophet Daniel, who interpreted those Hebrew words on the wall:

“This is the interpretation of the message: 'MENE'--God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it.’TEKEL'--you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. 'PERES'--your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and Persians” (Daniel 5:26-28).

That very night, Belshazzar was slain. His Babylonian Empire was overthrown and taken over by the Medo-Persians.

What God is Saying about the Spirit of Islam

Islam is first and foremost and spiritual principality that has stretched across and enslaved a vast portion of the world. It is a spiritual force, which clearly is manifested in the lives of people, their behaviors, their practices, their cultures, and the governments they form.

To this Spirit of Islam, God is saying:

MENE: I have numbered the days of your kingdom and put an end to it. The duration of your kingdom has been limited to 1400 years, from the year that Islam was unleashed on the world, in 610 A.D. We will see the end of the spiritual reign of the Spirit of Islam in 2010 A.D.

TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balance and found deficient. The cup of Islam’s bloodshed has now overflowed. God’s justice and wrath will now be poured out on the Spirit of Islam, and it will be cast out.

PERES: Your kingdom has been divided. The prison system of Islam will be breached. More than half of the spiritual captives of Islam will be set free by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
